house of ***Kate*** (update long post)

    Greetings to the group,
Firstly I would like to thank all that posted emailed, txt and rang me.
    Here is the update ..

Finally thinks are getting back to normal. I have now been off work for
6 weeks and my heath is 90% better then it has been. (still have the chest infection ) I am still off work and won’t return until the end of this month.

So what is the short term plans ?
For now I am on medication to control the headaches, I will stay on these for three months, after that time I will come off the medication and see if the headaches return.
After trial and error we have found that by taking the medication at 9pm I do not wake with the bad head take them too early and I wake with a pounding head. Take them too late and then I am up most of the night, due to the increases of caffeine that I now have to have. (The caffeine stimulates some chemical in the brain) one of the side effects of the medication is that it will make me drowsy. So one will keep me awake the other will help me sleep. Taken at the right time they both work in harmony.
It has now been 1 full week with out the headaches and I can honestly say it sure as hell feels strange not to wake with a pounding head and have to take pain killers.

The lump in my neck was the lymph node I have seen a spe******t and they are going to leave it alone for now as there is no harm in leaving it there unless it become a cosmetics thing for me to have it removed. It’s not a big lump so I see no reason to go under any knife just for cosmetic reasons.

    Long term plans:
The brain aneurysm is at the back of the brain and will stay where it is for now. It is very risky to have it removed.
So what will happen now is that I will have it closely monitored every six months I will have a MRA done they will measure it to make sure there is no change in size or if it has moved.
All this means is that I now have to watch what I do. No karate no playing rough sports that I could knock my head. And stay on the medication.
The lymph node will stay there don’t see any reason to have it removed and also have been told that I would be hard pressed to find a doctor that will operate on me. As they now have to consider the fact that I have the aneurysm.

How did this affect the family?
I have two grown daughters both married.
Both the girls where very frightened they where going to lose their mother, one took the news well and said ok where do we go from here?
The other one said ok thanks for telling me and promptly left the house to deal with the news in her own way.
Thankfully it has turned out good so no need for them to worry I am going to be around a lot longer.

After having a scare as I did there are a few things that now need my attention. Things that should have been done a long time a go that I all ways thought that I would not have to deal with for some time..

I am talking about the paper trail.
    1. my will being change, it was easy before being single mum I left every thing to the children now I have to consider not only my children and grand children there is also my slaves and what happens with them.
    2. do I have enough life insurance should anything happen to me
    3. Have I pre paid a funeral?
These are things that we all say yes we will make the changes and for some reason it gets forgotten about or we simply get to busy with life that we forget until you have a scare.
I wish you all well and look forward to seeing you or chatting with you for a very long time.

    Here is food for thought.
Have you taken care of your paper trail should any thing happen to you.?

Thanks for the update, Kate. I'm really glad you are on the mend and have no serious medical issues to deal with right now. Yay!

Thanks very much for the update. It is good to hear that things are able to be managed.

My answer to the question was a big no. I will go and work on that.
