I helped lift Jeri into the meat wagon from the morgue, and wiped away some emotions which were dripping down my face. Mom came out to join us; she touched Jeri and whispered a few words into her ear. She took my hand and we stood silent with other security people for a minute.
As we walked back to the building together, Mom wasted no time making her views clear about our next step.
"Chuck, we need to coordinate an attack on Diego's base. I've got my informers out there; we know just where he is hiding. We tracked him through his medical needs because of his injury."
"Agreed." I was reluctant to do this, but our pre-raid research had to be thorough. "I want in on every detail of what you are going to do, hear me? Every fucking detail. We have lost a family member... I don't want any others lost, no matter how we manage it. I'll call in a few favors, and get the Don to cough up some troops for cannon fodder. Lets make the plan MOVE, Mom. If you need help, grab whatever resources you need, and I am on call 24/7."
Getting inside, I found Stella waiting for me. She filled me in on the details of meeting with Jeri's family. My efficient lady had already contacted her relatives, and I'd be leaving in half an hour.
