I also have a collar from wyred slave. I get a range of comments from "why are you wearing a bike chain / dog collar?" to "oooh! pretty necklace!" so it's a crapshoot.

I have a beaded hematite & garnet choker that I wear for job interviews, etc. Simple is better if you're concerned, I agree.
