He already cursed auto-correct, and I know that I have changed words, even sentences, when I couldn't remember how to spell them. I can't seem to find the "fix" part of spell-check here-I get the red underline, but can't figure out how to get the correct spelling.
Anyway, I was just teasing. But, did you mean, "The troughs (troffs) of despair?" I'm pretty sure that word only has one "h," though I could be wrong. (My ego doesn't bruise over this kind of stuff-no tough, just beaten.) I would pronounce what you wrote as "threws" so maybe I am just clueless, and need to go back to school. There is a book with a title that is something about, The Tough Cough Enough Through something, something-I know I'm getting it wrong, but you get the idea. It's all about the screwiness of English.
