View Full Version : New here, new to BDSM
Hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself.
I am fairly new to BDSM, been practicing for about a year now. It all started when I began dating a girl who liked being spanked, liked it rough, etc, but never actually saw herself as being in to bondage or submission. Likewise, I never imagined that I would like dominating someone.
Well, the rough sex and hair pulling quickly led me to start reading books and buying all sorts of torture devices, rope, chains, etc. It has opened my eyes in many ways, and I love it.
We are very vanilla otherwise, and only take on our roles in the bedroom (or kitchen, or bathroom, or wherever I decide to do bad things to her, lol). We have kept it our secret, and currently have no desire to share with others.
I hope to read and learn here, in order to become a better Dominant to my slave. Any advice for a newb Dom would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome. I am sure you will find the site both fun and informative
You say you live vanilla because you keep your BDSM life to the bedroom - which I would guess that the vast majority of us do, in terms of actually doing stuff, for purely practical reasons. But you say that you may decide to do bad things to her elsewhere, which shows that your roles don't actually end at the bedroom door. She doesn't have to call you Master in public or wear your collar 24/7: the fact that you both accept your right to use her as you like whenever you choose means that you are living a Master/slave life as much as a couple where the slave never wears clothes around the house or is permanently on hir knees.
Hello and welcome to the forums, Jefe

Well, thank you Leo. Yes, I suppose we are living quite the Master/slave life. We have not told any friends or family about this, nor have we sought out any local organizations of like-minded people. We are not lifestylers, that's for sure. But yeah, we enjoy the Master/slave relationship very much. :)
