  1. Thank you for your continued feedback.

Though each parts of a larger world, individual stories in the 'FREEDOM' series should be enjoyable on their own. However, I don't want to bog down shorter side-stories like Deception with excessive explanation. Thus, I'm stuck in the position of having the opening blurb supported by indirect exposition, like how the characters treat the contracts, or the legalese of the attorney. Since this is the first short side-story, that balance still needs a lot of work, and I'd certainly be willing to edit more info into Deception.

Oh, and Class Warfare is an ongoing story. The first seven chapters are a single arc, and I hope to post the 'bridge' chapters leading up to the main part of the story pretty soon.

I do tend to poke those I like. For some odd reason I find myself liking you. Not in that way, you perv. Well, maybe....<flutters eyes>

Yeah, I can't pull that off, can I?
  3. Thanks, I'd love to be published, maybe one day I will, but I have to say, as long as I write on this site, I know my writing has a good home, and people who really enjoy it will read it, I think thats what most writers want at the end of the day, I know it's what I've always wanted, and as long as people here like what I write, and my writing is enjoyed, it's certainly good enough for me, although yes, one day, it would be great to see a book in print and know that I'm it's creator, but you never know - it could happen, but until then, my writing is happy here :-)

Oh no - you're one of those people with clogs who lives in windmills!
  5. Nah, no single fingered salutes here. At least, not in your general direction. Don't know you well enough to tell you to sod-off.

And thanks for the new word. Although I was under the impression that peanut butter was made of, yes, peanuts. I could be wrong, of course. Never heard of cashewnut butter, on the other hand. Logical, since I never heard of a cashew either.

You can blame that ignorance on the fact that English is only my 4th language. After Flemish (Dutch), French and German.

I'm off. Got to feed the fish. To the cat.

With friendly greetings (now you have me sounding like former UNO Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim, in his days).

    JJ

I tend to think that reviews and story writing should be completley different. It galls me when authors complain at reviewers who have errors in the written review. I've seen numerous authors justify their mistakes by pointing out that a reviewer used the wrong "there" in their review. Conversely, I don't think that a written review should be considered when reviewing an author's stories. Each story should be judged exclusively on it's own merit. Of course, I don't even follow my own guidlines exactly as I should - several of my favorite authors get reviews based, in part, on my expectations of their writings. Ideals and reality do get in my way and turn me into something of a hypocrite. Damnitalltohell!

At any rate, I shall let you alone for the time being and, assuming your salute is not single fingered, I shall return your salute.

    Oh, it isn't a peanut, it's a cashew.
  7. Hehe...
Judging by your reviews, I already surmised that your peanut was a tad bigger than that of the average mortal. And I'm talking about the peanut under the skull, just to make that clear.

But I find it still fairly strange that you don't want me to mix your writings with your reviews. I mean, it's a bit like "Do as I say, but not as I do", or that saying with the pot and the kettle, no?

And I'm not into the "bump-a-dent-in-yonder-ego" business. Although, that depends on the person. Since I can live with my own ego, I don't have a problem with yours either.

At the moment, I'm going through all the stories I've read over the last, almost 4 years, to add a review, as I neglected that in the past. I've saved your stories page, with some 70 other authors. Since I'm going alphabetically, and am currently at letter 'D', it'll take a while before I get to 'H'.
But you'll see my pop-up in a while.

Until then, I salute you, H. Dean

Well, hell, I can't comment in the review section right now so I thought I would hammer away here. So, here goes...

You are correct that the story was not up to my normal sterling quality and it was something created by a close friend of mine. I tried to clean it up and adjust it a tad. Frankly, I did just that. Had you seen the original you would know that. Just the same, I agree with you that it was not what one might expect from one with such a considerable ego and reputation as I.

And now, time for something completely different...
My reviews are spot on and should in no way be indicative of my own writing prowess. Many reviewers are spot on but can't write a wit. This you know, I am sure. Thus, it is unfair of you to comment on my writing using my own reviews as fodder.

As you noted in your review, I did not claim the story as my own. Thus it is further unfair of you to complain about my writing as if that story were typical of my writing. Frankly, if you want to find a story of mine to complain about you should read "A Slave Story", "Lindy's Tale" or "A Letter to Ryan". I should have been ridden out of town on a rail for those poorly written stories.

Now, before I forget, thank you for offering up the review you offered. Frankly, I think your "8" was a bit generous as the story was, as you mentioned, a mere synopsis that contained many grammatical and spelling gaffes.

Finally, the review made me chuckle as did your entire demeanor - in a good way.
