I'll make a submission. This was written a while back.

It is an excerpt from a roleplay, so if you need to disqualify it from the contest, I fully understand. However, the entire excerpt was written by me.

It stands alone but alludes to previous events which are not explained herein. None-the-less, I like it as a stand alone vignette.
