Question Raising Children away from the bdsm lifestyle

How would you raise children and not expose them to a bdsm lifestyle?

Couple who have close or a 24/7 bdsm lifestyle would be difficult. Being female, the wife and subordinant would come easy and that part would be easy to hide, but what about punishments? Bondage? Disciplining the sub/slaves?

Same with males, being father and dominant in the family is easy enough.

Is it or does it seem different than raising in a "vanilla" family?

If you don't mind sharing, does anyone have children and have a bdsm lifestyle for the most part?

I mean there is keeping it in the bedroom and then living you life. I'd like both perspectives if anyone is willing to comment.

(Hope I didn't break any rules. The other forum I posted this in deleted it because it's "too close for comfort." If you hafta delete, it's fine, but I'd like an actually opinion or two if possible. Thanks.)

I think it is a very valid and interesting question... I have never thought about what will have to change when I have kids. I am also curious what people have to say on this. That sucks they took it down at the other place.

There is a BDSM parenting thread

    http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6733

Perhaps your questions were already answered there? If not, then maybe the thread could continue on.

    ICrewDawg:

I did look but it was more experiences and avoiding exposure than anything else. It was ways to get around it, but I was thinking more of a personal view on the main differences or what it was the parents realized had to change.

I don't know. Maybe I view it differently. If there is a big difference than they post, if not then they don't.

    But thanks for the link.

When we got together her kid was ten. He's in his early twenties now. The only question he ever asked her was "How come you always do what Will says?" The slavegirl's answer was "Because that's the way WE like to live". Near as I can tell, he observed that she was happy and subject never came up again.

I'm sure he knows something of what goes on, all kids do, no matter how careful you think you're being. Beyond the usual, we don't make a great effort to hide. I mean, we don't have all-out scenes in front of him but if he went into the closet he'll run across riding crops and such. I don't think kids care as long as their home life is stable and relatively free of tension and anger.
