One Night And The Scent of Heather

To: Heather a woman I knew once.

Removing the towel
from your head
the full, thick mane
flows in slow-motion
down onto your back
and the soft breeze
brings to me

The wondrous scent of Heather.

We hug, long and strong,
I feel shy and try to withdraw
but you hug me tighter
and close to you
I am awash in
the comforting scent of Heather.

Your laugh warms me
as you forget your troubles
and we look at photographs
in the twilight
And suddenly I lean close
and steal from you
the loving scent of Heather

The scen we play
parallels the scen we live.
Full of marvel and spirit as we play
over and over again
my passion growing each time
we kiss.
I wonder how real it is
as I taste and smell
the heady scent of Heather.

The Music swells and I hold you
and I stroke you.
Your whisper moves me when you say
How comfortable
and shy you feel with me.
My heart melts.
I thinkhow new this is and how I never
want it to end as I lean down and kiss you
And gather around me
the soothing scent of Heather.

we passinately kiss goodbye
or is it hello?
as we begin an irresistible dance
Both of us knowing
we need to slow down
and neither being able to brake.
But the care we have for the other burns
through the passion and we pull apart.
My mind muddled with lust
I am engulfed in
the sultry scent of Heather.

As I drive home I ponder
how far we have come
in such a short time
and my memory is full
of
