This is something I just finished writing. I know it has very little structure, and the meter's off in places, but this is what came when I put the pen to paper.

In the beginning I hated you
For everything you put me through
Together we laughed, together we cried
But everything you told me were nothing but lies
I was just the substitute
I was the one for you to use
I hated the way you cast me aside
The way you left me, without so much as a goodbye
But now I realize that it was meant to be
Now I realize that the problem was me
I guess he was better in every way
I truly hope that he makes you happy some day

iam not one ot care about timing or structure... my worry is more your heart... and the pain through your words that sound almost angry...

i can feel your pain and your unselfish blame.. but truly iam sure it was not all you fault ..

Writing comes from the heart.

To me, it makes no difference if it rhymes or if the structure is sound. It's about a moment in time... and the preservation of it in words.
