    Hi there

    Hello there.

    I recently gained the confidence to create an account here and openly discuss myself. This was due in no small part to an enlightening story that I read and encouragement from the author.

    I've known for a long time that I prefer a bdsm over "vanilla sex/relationships", however I've never had the confidence to openly discuss this with anyone.

    I'm also recovering from a recent emotional state, due to a number of factors I was very unhealthy (in every sense of the word). After speaking with a professional, it was suggested that I try to not repress things like this. As it only builds to existing issues.

    So I've come here to introduce myself, not really sure of what I hope to gain from this experience just yet. But knowing that this small step is enough, and to know that I can discuss these topics openly is an incredible relief.

    Welcome to the forum. I wholeheartedly agree with your professional's suggestion. In my experience, self-denial only ends up causing more issues than being "different" ever could.
