"Take me Home"
I close my eyes and look around,
at the life that once was mine~
Through open doors, and feilds of grain,
myself I once again find.
Take me home, down dusty roads,
where I was strong and free~
With faded jeans, a happy laugh,
and a scrape upon my knee.
Swinging high up in the rafters,
of grandpa's big red barn~
Laughing as I flew atop the hay,
landing safley again, unharmed.
Trees flying past me, as I raced a friend,
atop our favorite steeds~
Joyful laughter lost in the wind,
as we set our souls free.
Solomn nights in the peaceful hush,
the moon shimmering on the lake~
Dreaming of everything that I thought,
of my life I'd make.
Firelight trapped within the stones,
the friends and memories there~
As we gathered around the fire,
with stories that we'd share.
Dogs that have shared parts of my life,
horses, cats and friends~
All were such a wonderfull part,
of this dream that never ends.
As I open my eyes, deep in the night,
they shimmer with a tear~
A restfull soul inside me knows,
that home is always near.
