I'm sure I spelled that wrong but I would like any knowledge on this subject that anyone has. I find it intriguing but I know it can be dangerous so any info and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Doing it alone is dangerous no matter how you look at it. Having a partner, you must be cautious of damage to the wind pipe.
There all kinds of issues from a medical standpoint. It only takes about 4 minutes of apoxia to cause permanent brain damage. In some individuals, respiratory distress can trigger ventricular fibrillation. Physical changes can happen so fast and the margin for error in the event of a problem is so small that who ever is performing the play should be very very knowledgeable in not only the mechanics of the scene, but also the proper emergency medical response in case there is a problem. In my opinion, any of the many forms of erotic asphyxiation is probably the most dangerous and unpredictable type of play in which one can engage.

To my darling Lady. It is your happiness that I seek more than anything else. To see you happy is reward enough. I Love you.
I still love to do it.In my opinion, any of the many forms of erotic asphyxiation is probably the most dangerous and unpredictable type of play in which one can engage
and remember with this you are literaly playing with some ones life this is not like a word game
Hi Flogfan,
"Erotic asphyxiation" can fall into the category of a risk aware consensual kink (RACK). The more you know, the more aware you are of the risk and yet you may still make the decision to try it out for yourself.

When doing research, I like to start with Wikipedia,
then follow the links they've provided for more information.

Me thinks autoerotic asphyxiation refers to solo play which is by nature the most dangerous form. (It's hard to utter a safe word to yourself when you've passed out but if you did manage to you'd be in no shape to respond appropriately.) When partners are involved I think it's called erotic asphyxiation and in that case it's still full of danger but if you've picked a knowledgeable and trustworthy partner you stand a better chance.
Some speculate that accidental deaths from autoerotic asphyxiation may well contribute to the statistically high number of teenage male suicides.
I'm pretty sure most other forms of breath control play are,
well, more controllable.....

English does not borrow from other languages. English follows other languages into dark alleys, raps them over the head with a cudgel, then goes through their pockets for loose vocabulary and spare grammar.
Yes, that's it Mad and Lews! Thanks.

thanks folks, I had the two confused...I guess I just meant erotic asphyxiation. sorry. It's something i'm interested in and my hubby is willing to experiment but we want to know as much about it as possible so we know for sure what we're getting ourselves into.
