    Fire

The full moon is rising inside of my heart,
I hide in the darkness to keep us apart,
Everyone knows the world is a liar,
I am the one who crawled through the wire.
I am the one who walks through the fire.

They cut you wide open and fill you with pain
they stoke up the fires and fill you with flames.
These cuts on my arms they show my desire,
I am the one who crawls through the wire.
I am the one who walked through the fire.

The tears on my face that I silently weep
the sadness I'll never show you I keep.
You don't understand that you build up the pyre,
I'm still the one who crawls through the wire,
I burn alone, inside the fire.

Wow. Very good, very well written. The emotion carries well through the words.
The end comes when we no longer talk with ourselves. It is the end of genuine thinking and the beginning of the final loneliness. The remarkable thing is that the cessation of the inner dialogue marks also the end of our concern with the world around us. It is as if we noted the world and think about it only when we have to report it to ourselves.

Thanks for all your kind words. I wrote this following a wonderful evening which he followed with "we shouldn't keep doing this" and "lets just be friends" AGAIN.
