Here is a slightly sensible question!

Is it just a Scottish phenonemon that when using the past tense of jump we say jamp instead if jumped?

I tried for years to justify this to my parents by using the example of come/came but it doesn't really work properly - but i loved saying it to them! "today i might come, yesterday i came" *sniggers like a wain*

Is this national or even international?

I've never heard that in any Northern English accents, which tend to be pretty wacky. But the good thing about your tenunous use of grammar is that if the thought of licking jam off someone makes you damp, and encourages you to jump someone, then that's jamp all over.
