Were you from Morningside (posh bit of the fair city of Edinburgh) you may well say scone as in bone, but my granny was a domestic science teacher and a fine maker of the scone and she lived in Newton Mearns (posh bit of the perhaps not so fair city of Glasgow) and she and the other guild ladies said scone as in non.
Accent is a funny thing here in Scotland, i agree that a good Scottish burr really makes me purr but having moved further north of late the way that some people this way talk affects me like sandpaper to my face! I have found myself having to walk away from conversations because the grating sound is too much!
