Cannot get into chat with either IE or Firefox. Opera works. No freakin' idea.

Different machine. Chat works with Opera, not FireFox nor IE. After a minute of white screen on IE got a notice that Flash needed to be installed (it already was.) Updated Flash, IE chat worked. Firefox didn't. Upgraded Flash within Firefox. Still no chat. Still no freakin' idea. It's a computer thing.

Back to the laptop. Updated to Flash13. Chat still doesn't work in either FF or IE. Works in Opera. Same modem, same internet connection. Browser settings? WFK?

Might try clearing out your cookies. Seems to be the default first step.

Removed all cookies using Ccleaner... no change. still black screen in Chrome

I use Cookie Monster. All cookies are cleared when the browser closes. Plus when I log out the forum message is that all cookies have been cleared. I understand the cookie conflict. But not the inconsistencies.

Tried Firefox again. On the third refresh chat came up. Still no clue.

I am having real problems in the chat rooms, It will let me post 1 message then the keys become inoperative and wont type anything, and if they do it will not send them, any ideas

Sometimes it depends on the browser you are using...I hate Explorer. I find Chrome works the best or Foxfire. Good luck and hope it helps!

lorem, have you found a way to make Library chat work on Firefox? That's what I prefer, but I can't seem to get chat to load. All current on flash and the plugs ins, so I'm at a loss.

Sir, hmmmm I am confused. I have not had a problem really, just mostly on Explorer. I unfortunately am not very computer tech savvy...*grin*, I am just fortunate to have a really good computer. If I find out any information I will let you know.

I get a page not found error when I try to access chat with Chrome.

Ok.......... If you receive this blank screen, log off site, clear browsing history and log back in. Click chat; black screen, wait............should enter, if not then log off and try again. It seems to be a random thing for most folk and may need looking into. I use google chrome, seems to work fine......but I also have the same the problem on occasions.

My tablet won't support adobe so I can't access chat. Is there another way to get into chat?

I have tried chrome and opera. I have cleared the cache, history, browsing data. I still cannot get into chat. All I get is a black screen.

Can anyone help me get into my safe place please?

1. Is your flash plugin updated?
a. If it is not updated please go here and download and install it.
b. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
c. Check your that your browser has adobe and or flash enabled
d. If flash is not working follow these steps to uninstall.

e. Restart your computer check if its working

2. Still not working Check your Java install is up to date.

b. If is up to date and not working follow the steps to uninstall and reinstall.

c. Restart your computer check if its working

3. If you are still unable to get into Chat, Please look at your Antivirus to see if it is blocking popups or java applications. You can test this by turning off your antivirus and attempting to get into chat. If you are able to get into chat when it’s disabled look up your antivirus and see if you can add it to safe applications.
a. Restart your computer check if it’s working.

4. If none of these work trying looking to see if you have any windows updates. Install and restart your computer.
If none of that helped or worked your computer is probably so far gone that you will need a professional to look at it…………… Please don’t hurt your computer……….

I am using chrome. I could get into chat then one day for some reason could not. I then went to Settings > Show advances settings > Reset settings and then it worked. On the downside I had to redo settings I wanted but hats not time consuming, Worked for me so who knows maybe will for you.

When I go into my backoffice (My Profiles tab) to view my avatar, it is there, but when I create threads and/or just post, my avatar cannot be seen - even though it's size specifications are under 100 pixels by 100 pixels. Why is this so?

Strange. I guess it depends on what type of electronic device that I am using. When I had a portable tablet, the image would not download to my avatar, but now that I am using a desktop, the image fits in the avatar perfectly - same file and size that I was using on the tablet and everything. Not surprisingly, I have some of the same type of issues when me and Parents are dealing with our finances through banks ...
