I suppose there is some interest in seeing a story as it is put together, but one problem with that approach is the difficulty in editing for consistency and continuity after the fact. A burst of inspired plot alterations in chapter 12 isn't much good if the first 11 chapters are set in stone.

I never post an incomplete story, nor do I go back and edit afterwards. It stands or falls on its own merit. The one exception is the sequel, which by its nature depends on What Has Gone Before in a Galaxy Far Far Away. But even a sequel should be logically self-contained, with its own plot and a clear resolution.

If someone wants to post teasers as advertisements, fine, but make it clear right at the top.
