John Norman also wrote a very interesting book that while similar to the Gor books in philosophy is not about Gor at all.

    Time Slave - 1975

In this book, Norman presents his personal theories of human evolution, exemplified by the case of a modern woman sent back in time twenty thousand years or more; he mourns the loss of human evolutionary fitness and distortion of "natural" social relations which in his view occurred when farming spread, and farmers squeezed hunter/gatherers to the ecological margins.
The fire doesn't command the tender to feed it. It is the duty of the fire to dance and burn, to entice the tender to stoke and stir the flames.

The Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey (starting with Kushiel's Dart) are pretty much about sado/masochism, among other things. A lot of my friends are really into them; they don't do as much for me because I'm way more into D/s than S/M, and the character in the book is a "pure" masochist -- she was cursed from birth to feel pleasure and pain as the same.
I love myself, I want you to love me
When I feel down I want you above me
I search myself, I want you to find me
I forget myself, I want you to remind me.
