so i think for the most part the only long term affect from cutting is scars... which again... if you cut shallow, the scars dont last for a lifetime.

I can tell you that if done too often and too deeply,such cuts can cause exuberant scarring.And there's always the risk of infection.So please be very careful.It's one the more dangerous things to do.Another thing be careful where you cut yourself.Some veins are pretty big and near the surface of the skin.
