Jade met a curious man with baldhead wandering in the corridor. He seemed lost.
”Are you lost?”, Jade said as she approached him.
He kept his eyes on the floor and seemed uncomfortable.
”My name is Jade. Can I assist you”, she said as she offered him her hand.
”Mistress I have been instructed to go to the dinning hall to eat. I do not know where that is”, the man replied.
“Where I come from when a lady offers you her hand and name. The proper response would be to shake it and tell her your name”, Jade said as I frown crossed her face. “It would also be considered polite to look her in the eyes when you were speaking to her”, Jade added.
”Mistress, I have been instructed to look at the floor by Sir Chuck”, he stammered.
”Well if that is what Lord Chuck has commanded then that is what you should do”, she said with a smile.
Jade wondered if he was in training. She felt as lost as him most of the time to.
”What is your name?”, she asked.
“Mistress my name is Jaden”, he replied.
“Then follow me and I will show you to the dining hall. You look like you could use something to eat. And Jaden my name is Jade until I tell you otherwise. Do you understand?”, she said in a firm voice.
”Yes Mistress Jade I understand”, replied Jade.
Jade shook her head. “No Jaden just Jade”, she grinned. Although Mistress Jade did have a nice sound to it.
”Come Jaden. I am starving to and I need to grab something to eat before I get to work”, Jade said as they went to the dining hall.
Jaden followed and Jade showed him to a table.
”If you like I can grab us both something to eat” she offered.
”No”, replied Jaden abruptly.
”I was just trying to be nice. The food is over there. Help yourself”, she snapped and left for the kitchen.
Jade was a little pissed. He didn’t have to be rude. A no thank you would have been much nicer. Jade looked back to see Jaden still sitting at the table. Maybe she was being too pushy and he wanted to be alone. She could understand that. This place has a little hard to get use to at times. Jade stopped her pondering as her stomach started complaining for food again. She was as hungry as a horse when she entered the kitchen. Her priorities food first then work. She had a lot to think about and work helped her figure things out.
