[Ruby]

A surprise visitor for Jaden

The sound of a chair caused Jaden to open his eyes. It was Ruby. She set the chair next to him and sat down. He tried to move, wanting to place himself in a proper present position. Ruby stopped him with a look. She shook her head and put a hand on his.

The hair was growing back quickly. Ruby slowly moved her hand, giving Jaden a soft massage. He settled down, keeping his eyes on her.

"Did you think I would leave you alone with your pain?" Ruby asked.

"Yes, mistress," he answered.

"It's not my way, Jaden. I can remember hours of being alone, crying, thinking that my old master didn't care enough about me...Master T would never do that to me," she shook her head, unable or unwilling to continue.

"I won't heal you tonight, because Sir Chuck believes that you will learn your lessons faster if you feel the pain. But I won't leave you alone either. You are loved here and that is another lesson I want you to learn."

Jaden nodded, listening intently.

"I've spoken with Dee. If you think you're up to it, she has released you into my care. Would you like to spend the night in my bed?"

He nodded again, so many questions he wanted to ask, but it didn't seem like the time. Moving swiftly, Ruby stood, bent down and picked him up as if he weighed no more than his pillow. She cradled him to her chest and walked out of the room, towards her own chambers.

"Mistress...how?" Jaden asked.

"Shhh, it's past curfew and most everyone's asleep. I'm a little stronger than the other slaves here, but you don't need to tell them. Okay?"

"Okay," he answered. She was trying to be gentle, but his back felt like it was on fire. A small moan escaped him.

"Just a little farther, pet," Ruby cooed softly.

Sari was waiting near the door and opened it for them. As Ruby walked past, Sari quietly shut the door and nodded to her mistress. Myya was asleep in the smaller bedroom and Sari joined her. She would have liked to sleep with Jaden and Ruby, but knew that Jaden probably didn't need to be bumped or jarred.

While Ruby helped Jaden arrange himself in a somewhat comfortable position, Sari snuggled against Myya and closed her eyes. Her adventure with Nik had her soon dreaming about the upcoming voyage with Captain Chuck.

When Ruby was satisfied that Jaden was as comfortable as possible, she climbed into bed with him. A soft kiss and she gently put her fingertips over his eyes, in a gesture for him to close them.

"Sleep, pet. In the morning, we can discuss what you learned and how you felt about it. For now, I want you to sleep. Dream of happy things and adventures you'd like to have."

After he was sound asleep, she joined him.
