about 4 this morning; it seems we have found an island with a sign of life which isn't supposed to have any. Some satellite phone with Mobius cleared up something I suspected, so with all our stealth devices and defences on, we slowly began to circle the island, paying out a heavy cable net.
Several sweeps satisfied me: we would be safe from whatever sank the boat on the floor of the harbor. Just then, a green flare flew up from the shore, and I noted the location. Pulling up the binoculars, I found it to be an old friend from the dungeon, learningtopleez! She had been shipwrecked out here with a master and 2 other subs... needed to find out what happened, and how to safely get her off the island.
Nick had already lowered the Gig and readied her to go ashore; I sent Amy along for emergency first aid if needed, with strict assignments not to leave the Gig. An arm slipped inside each of mine; Jade and Alura must have been awakened, and each was lending moral support (and a lot of snuggling).
About 20 minutes later, the Gig had returned. Nick put her back into her berth while Amy and learningtopleez approached me. Amy just winked and went below; learningtopleez had fallen into knees-present position. I took her hand to raise her, and inspected her. Other than something that looked like poison oak, she looked ok. Amazing tan. Amy rushed back on deck, carrying a tube of salve to apply to the rash. She also gave LTP a sedative, and suggested we allow her to sleep the clock around, just to make sure. We guided her to an open cabin, and put a "do not disturb" sign on the door.
Having had a night cut too short by the early alarm, I turned back to my cabin. No sooner had I closed the door than it reopened and in walked Jade and Alura. The two took off my scant ship's outfit, began to sing a song of love and sharing, and gently worked their loving tricks on my body. I faded away soon after.
