When the pounding was heard at the door of the dungeon, Jaden stuck his head into the hallway and saw Jade heading for the door, so he ducked back into the kitchen. The steak and garlic potatoes were very nice and all, but he felt the potatoes were a bit dry, so he was going to make his own potatoes into mashed garlic potatoes.

He couldn't find the butter or the milk in the fridge. Jaden was about to go back out and ask someone when he heard a frightening, elderly woman's voice floating through the doorway. "Dear please get me some white wine, deary. Now where is my grandson, Mobius? I need someone to rub my bunions."

Ruby came through the kitchen and she went directly to the wine cellar, where she took out a new bottle of white wine. She opened it and poured a glass, immediately exiting the kitchen again with the glass of wine in hand. Jaden stayed in the kitchen, but peeked out to see who had wanted the wine. He caught sight of a little wizened old lady in a chair, with two unfamiliar, but frightening-looking characters standing nearby. The female person happened to look over at the kitchen, and she caught his eye.

Myra looked up from where Grandma Ziggy was commanding the attention of the people in the living room and spotted a boy in the doorway of the kitchen.

Jaden forgot about his mashed-potatoes-to-be. The two people who had apparently arrived with the elderly woman gave him bad vibes. He could feel something poking at his mind, trying to get through his inner defenses, a curious assault on his mind. His hand flew up to his collar and held onto the heart-shaped tag for reassurance that it was still there. Jaden's mind repeated over and over Nononononononono

Myra poked Dracubius and drew his attention to the kitchen, where Jaden still stood, holding his tag. Both of their experienced minds working together on his single mind, inexperienced in shielding, was more effective.

The little tag grew burning hot to the touch in a matter of milliseconds. Jaden let go with a suprised yelp. The tag melted and burned its way through what little was holding it to Jaden's collar, dropping to the floor with a tiny tinkle.

They broke through, and Dracubius left Myra to her mind games with a grin.

[tag, anyone?]
