I don't know if anyone took to this like I did...but...my idea would be to not play it off as if you didn't like it in the first place, don't try to 'trick her' into doing what you wanted her to do in the first place, but since you already did...just tell her 'you know what, I really liked what you did the other day' and figure out why she didn't like it, and go from there.
