It was a lot of fun, I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the Bay Area or feels like making a trip. I think it's really unlike anything else, especially since it is outside, in the middle of the city, on a public street.

Another funny tidbit...that picture with the people in the tophats (pic 3 in the 2nd set maybe?) I have a friend who lives on that block behind them. He is a great guy but a total []. He moved into the area (from Vermont) not realizing it was the leather district, and moved in 1 week before the fair three years ago.

So he woke up one morning, looked out the window, and saw three guys in assless chaps wandering down the street, and freaked out. Imagine living someplace for one week and the street outside turns to -this- (and not realizing it was a once-a-year event!)

Anyhow, now he runs away to Noe Valley for the day each year
