October Update

Good afternoon,

I am a bit nervous about sending this, as the last time I asked a question like this, we all got some very sad news. So, let me begin by saying I hope and pray that all is well with Torq and his (her?) family.

Any news on updates? I noticed the stories haven't been updated since Oct. 7 and don't recall seeing any postings about a delay in updates in either the forum or the main page (sorry if I missed it).

Torq works a rotating shift between days and nights. When he is working nights the stories will not be updated as regularly as when he is working days due to additional time constraints. Added to that the fact he is ill at the moment and that is what is causing the delay. As soon as possible stories will be updated.

Errrrr guys? 10 days? The poor man does have a life outside of this site... like beating me.... *grins* And he's doing his best, but please have a little patience. There are 5000 stories-- read some you haven't read before while you're waiting. But he's trying... It isn't a simple system. If you don't already know, loading the stories takes about 15-30 min PER STORY. It isn't just clicking a button or flicking a switch.

Again, just a lil patience. This is me asking.

posting stories is not a "push of a button" it takes 15-30 minutes PER story just to prep it for posting. 10 stories equals approx. 3 hours of 'prep".

Just prepped 66 today , you do the math. TY!! They'll be 'up' shortly!!
An thats not counting the "revisions" that are requested.

I may be way out of line here, but here I go anyway, there are hundreds of free stories on this site, i like anyone else love the updates when they happen but RL always over rules this,
Let's all just be glad that some of this site is free, everyone has a life outside of this site be they adms, publishers ect, and real life situations happen, even more so when alot if not most of the work done here is voluntary
Let's be greatfull for what we have free here to enjoy and wait patiently, udates will happen when they do

I am not running or maintaining any site, but I already hate to be nagged if I dare to take 2 days for answering a private e-mail I got...

Having to apologize for having a real life is really nothing an admin (or whoever else, for that matter!) should find himself forced to do.
