What's going on with story summaries?

A summary or synopsis was considered mandatory in the days when Jinn ran the site. I think that requirement should be put back into force. Any author incapable of summarizing what he or she is writing shouldn't be writing!

well I kind of disagree ---there are many new authors who just do not know what to put in a synopsis---give time they will see what needs to be done---we as readers have the option of not reading a story that has no synopsis. But I like to give every author a chance to get their work published.
