I noticed that most have mentioned the during and after, but not much about the anticipation/preparation. For me, the fun starts before the smacks. Borrowing the format of IDC's definitive list, I'd include:

- that baring of the ass in preparation
- the slappy sound the belt makes as I pull it quickly through the pants loops
- then the jinglejangle the buckle makes when you fold the leather over double
- seeing the tensing of the skin as I run a finger across the target

and even though we haven't exercised it yet, I'm thinking of the fun to be had with a good old Southern Grandma "Go get me a switch" command, and the pleasure of my sub's return presentation of a well-selected flexible and thin branch stripped of its leaves. Hmm, I think the weather's supposed to be good this weekend...
