Broken

This poem took a lot out of me... Not nessecarily a bad thing, either. It feels so much better to get these things down in writing.

I'm broken here, I'm unable to see
My head's all wrong, I can't seem to think
The image is cracked, the vision all wrong
The shattered pieces litter the halls
I step and stumble, cutting my feet
On all these memories buried so deep
I don't want to know, don't want to feel
These thoughts hurt, and my sanity they steal
I'm lost now in this maze of my mind
My sanctuary used to be so easy to find
But now it's gone, lost within pain
I'll fumble, I'll struggle, and I'll fight in vein
But these efforts are draining, they take their toll
Chipping away at all that I am, leaving just a hole
Soon there will be nothing, just pieces of me
I'll be swept aside and forgotten, too small to see
I can only hope when that time comes, I'll be too far gone
To feel the pain that hits so strong
