Some sensors sense heat/cold and can be fooled by which it is if you have never stuck a hand into something very cold it feels like it is burning.

Some sensors sense pain/pleasure these too can be fooled start with pleasure the body sensors expect more of it so while I have started out the pleasure spanking with very lightly, then I begin to play with her clit as I slowly build up the strength of the spank I am paying very close attention to be sure that she is feeling the pleasure more then the pain. After a short time the spanks grow to be harder but the body feels only pleasure. After a few climaxes the spanks can be very hard and she feels the pleasure is on steriods because she feels only the pleasure and much more intense because the sensors have been fooled.

I use nipple clamps and pegs do the same thing with them get the nipples excited then apply as long as I keep her high which means don't take here beyond the level that suddenly the pain/pleasure sensors so damn that hurt she just gets higher.

I do ask my subs to every once in a while take a no pleasure cropping or a hard paddling to show me how much she cares for me by what she will suffer just for me and I have found some subs get very excited by answering questions about who they serve, who owns them, etc as I crop them. This I think go to the fact that I have shown them pleasure/pain mix is so awesome that playing with their mind helps her feel pleasure where there is none.

Hope that helps.
Indeed Russell! The whole key is taking the head to a place where pain and pleasure become one.

In answer to the original question "Is it possible to cum from the pain alone?" The answer is a most enthusiastic "Yes and no".

Yes - because it is very possible to associate specific forms of pain with pleasure in the submissive's mind. As long as the pain is administered in a manner and at a level that doesn't cross over into "this is no longer fun" territory, it is indeed possible to take a sub to orgasm just with the careful application of pain.

No - because if that association between pleasure and pain isn't made (Russell's method is a classic) then the pain is just --- pain. Yes, endorphines will be released - but the sensation will not induce a pleasure response. The Dom's role is to take the submissive to the place where the pain becomes pleasure --- and constant reinforcement of the pain/pleasure stimulus makes the association of pleasure and pain an automatic response in the sub.

There are caveats of course - going past the point where the pain induces a pleasure stimulus is possible - that point is the edge people talk about. Sometimes it is useful to go beyond that edge but care must be taken or pain will become the operative sensation over time - a form of reverse conditioning, I suppose. The pain/pleasure divide is very much a mental thing <grin>.
