Mary's emotions were so conflicting. Anger at her husband, because as far as she could deduce, he had asked Tim to do this to her; astonishment at Tim, because although they had only been neighbors for eight months, he had always been so kind; and lastly she was surprised at how turned on she was (but she was damned if she was going to let Tim know it)!

She flattened herself back against the wall as hard as she could and said, "If you just let me go now, I won't report you."
