Slight segue, but I liked it quite a bit; good chapter length, good dialogue, very little repetition. For what it's worth, I didn't have a hard time following it and haven't read the other stories. I've always liked the in media res style of writing though. Ab initio is boring.

I am one of those people who doesn't look for safe or sane (or usually consensual) in my fiction though.
