At one time or another we are all in the lurker mode.
First, go to the story area and read. See what it is that you like. What is it that really turns you on.
Second, collect your thoughts and work through your fantasies in your mind. Develop what it is that turns you on.
Third, then take a stab. Put your thoughts down on paper and send the story in. That is where the greatest pleasure comes, in the creation.
We are all pretty kindly when it comes to criticism (well most of us are). When a story is really bad most of us just don't review it rather than be nasty. And when your ideas are good, or your writing is good, you get the greatest feel in the world.
