Waking up enough to hear him say something, that she was unlikely to remember in the morning. Krista snuggled tightly against his body. Enjoying the warmth of his body. The blankets were pulled up tight around her neck even though it really was not cool in the room. Exhausted, all she could think about was sleep for a couple of hours.
It was not a surprise to wake alone. She seemed to sleep more than him these days. Not that he probably minded. Krista had a way of distracting him from business if given a chance. And it seemed to her he was fightint a loosing battle with catching up. Laying in bed for a few more minutes to give her body time to wake up. Finally padding outinto the living area he was at his computer. No unusual.
Wrapping her arms around his neck and shoulders in a hug she watched the screen for a minute. Finally growing board of the endless words this early, she reached past him for the stuffed kitty next to the moniter and moved into the kitchen. Half an hour to cook some breakfast she moved back to the desk and computer next to him. Sitting both their plates down on the desk she took the third plate to Daniel.
Krista never noticed the unsure look on his face and was barely aware of his apology from yesterday. Her mind and thoughts were elsewhere at the moment. Closing the door behind her she returned to the extra computer chair to eat. The stuffed cat was once again on the desk in front of her.
"For being psychiatrist it did not really take that much.... Or as much as I expected.... the good doctor spent six months playing with my medication dose before I broke for him....."
After finishing eating, Krista moved over to the couch to lay down. Stretching out and relaxing. She had a good view of him from there and could slightly see the screen to Daniel's little cell too.
