Having followed Ash to the mounts besides the tavern, her fingers grazed against the neck of the tied mare, softly stroking over the creature’s soft reddish coat. A few quick gestures freed the horse’s reins, and with a satisfied smile, her hands gripped the leather saddle, her weight pushing onto her palms and hoisting herself upon the mare’s back. Khaera settled there comfortably then waited while Ash seated himself upon his mount. Grinning, she snapped the reins, goading the mare into gallop.
Her mare stayed besides Ash’s mount, keeping in sync with speed, her hair gently weaving against the wind and her bangs kissing her cheeks. When he spoke now, she turned to him as though her thoughts were interrupted, then smiled kindly. “Well, all formalities out of the way, I am Khaera Dantes. I was only passing through that town, was on my way to Temuir to see an old friend of mine.” She chuckled slightly, “I hardly stay in any place to long, too much to see in such a short lifetime.”
