Yep, I noticed mine was all stretched out and I hope we all don't have to resize and resubmit them... just to have them revert at some point.

If this is permenant, could someone please tell me how to resize and what to resize to?

    Thankyou. xx

Igirl, your avi now looks like a wonderfully old work of art, i like it a lot
Birds make great sky circles of their freedom
    How do they do it?
    They fall

And in falling, they’re given wings

Just to avoid any misapprehensions: my avatar is not affected by the distortions since it is square. But it shrunk in its over-all dimensions. (Feel free to make jokes about guys saying this last sentence.)

Ok, we've been messing w/avitar settings for 6 months because SOME people can't restrain themselves & upload these RIDICULOUS sized avitars that fill the screen & then some. If people could restrain their compulsiveness to have the largest avitar on the boards, then we wouldn't have to put restrictions on at all.

Now, as for the current bizarre re-sizing... I assume Tiger or Torq finally found the right setting that held to max the sizing out. I recommend if you distaste the resizing, you simply fix & re-upload your avitar. Would take about the same time that complaining about it does *laughs*... or you could just leave it morphed & complain... but I guarantee that due to the abuse of the avitar sizing by some folks, it isn't going to be increased any time soon. If the re-sizing is due to a different issue, I'll figure it out & look into it.

In the meantime, c'est la vie.

    well.....i wasn't complaining.......i was asking a question.......*laughs too*

I asked if the avatars were set to a certain size limit....150x150.....or if it was some other problem.....

I agree with you about the ridiculous size of some the avatars.......along with the ones that move and flash.........lol

I hope my former 250x250 are not considered to be "RIDICULOUSLY sized". It had been the maximum size allowed ca. two years ago, when I had created mine. So I had thought it is okay to use it.

    one solution.......

    for those with smaller avatars....

mount your avatar on a black background that is 150 by 150........

craven -it IS a wonderful old work of art, in its original proportions.

Lady Godiva by John Collier, 1897

Glad you like it though - i love classical erotic art. And the way she is looking down, hiding behind her hair, is just pure serene submission.

Took me a long time to decide on an avatar - i liked a lot, but knew i would get sick of them pretty quickly.

Sorry, way off topic. Maybe i should start a thread on the stories behind peoples avatars.

Would love to hear yours for a start Craven.

I hate how grainy and distorted the avi's look now. I have tried to resize mine in a manner that makes it look better and reupload it, but it wont work.. seems to just stretch it back to the size admin feels looks best. Some of them look downright hideous the way they have been stretched, particularly if they were smaller than 150x150 to begin with.
