LMAO this was a much needed and biggest laugh I have had in a long time...that this thread worked its way into a detailed description of a processed snack food!

Just a quick question. Is there a problem with the reviews, too? I got an email saying that I had a new review for my story, and when I tried to look at it none of the reviews showed up. It just allowed me to post a review.

    Ok. Just to be clear...

These are problems with the ENTIRE SITE. That means anything that starts with www.bdsmlibrary.com is going to be affected!!!!

PLEASE STOP SENDING THE ADMINS PMs!!!!!
    a.) Often,we can't read them.
b.) WE ARE FIXING THE PROBLEMS AS QUICK AS WE CAN!
c.) WE KNOW THINGS ARE DOWN!!!!!
Sending us PMs does NOT help the problem! I have 31 in my inbox this morning asking about various parts of the site being down. YES, we know they are. YES, we are working to fix them... PLEASE just have patience!

I know everyone is addicted to this place (in varying degrees, of course) and we are working hard to get it back online. But we can only work as fast as we can on it... bitching, complaining, PMing, emailing, posting, etc. about the problems aren't going to get the place back to "normal" any faster. In fact, that sort of thing slows us down because we have to pass through it to get to what we need to get working on.

    So for the time being...
No, we can't delete your acct. Chill. Life isn't going to collapse because you are a member here for an extra week.
No, I can't fix your sig block. If you can't fix it, I can't fix it.
No, I can't change your name (see Torq's thread in Headlines re: tags in any case).
No, I don't know why your posts aren't "taking." Could be the fluxing in the site. (see my previous comment in this forums area about backing up your posts before you post them if you are concerned about it)
No, I can't give you access right now into areas that you want access into. Trust me, I will when I can.
No, chat is NOT working. I know this. It might go up for a while, then come back down. No, I don't know when it's going to "work right," nor do I know [insert name]'s YIM/MSN handle. Whoopsy, forgot to write that down in my important black book.

We're trying to work as fast as possible. We're trying to be jovial & light-hearted about this all, because really, in the end, the site will go back up & be working in "normally" within a week--nothing to call TMZ (tabloid) over.

In the meantime... PLEASE PLEASE continue to have some patience!!!! If you REALLY can't find anything else to do, I will give you the name of a sub/Dom that you can chat with & beat/get beaten... might make you feel a bit better *laughs*

Torq, delia. Thank you to the mods and admins for all your hard work and patience. We know this isn't fun for any of you, having to fix all the server problems on the site. I for one, will just say that I look forward to the site being back up whenever you can get it working. Until then, Good Luck with fixing the problems.

No, a sticky thread is a normal thread, started by anyone, which is then made into a 'sticky' by an admin, because of its contents. So it stays at the top (sticks!) and thereby makes it easier for everyone to refer to. It might be a list of names, or a set of links, or something similar.
    Chin up.

Buys lots of hot pockets - many boxes of each flavor - for delia. Drops off bottles of all varieties of headache remedies.. some chocolate bars.. Tums, a hand book that says "have patience" in every language...would give neck massages if this one could...

Thanks to you and Torq and everyone committed to keeping this site afloat!

Please note that I'm replying to JimmyJump, NOT to Torq.

This problem is not limited to FireFox. I'm using Safari 1.3.2, and for me it additionaly affects my ability to respond to other posters' reviews. Clearing cookies (at Torq's suggestion) worked for me, but everytime I leave the site and return I need to clear again. Since this makes it tedious to navigate to/from/within any other site, I've simply given up on responding to reviews, which is unfortunate.

Am I correct in remembering that FireFox and Safari share a common origin?

I use the latest version of AVG on two computers and Avast on a older computer. I also use Jettico Firewall version 1 on my XP and Windows Firewall on my Vista. I ran Norton's antivirus and firewall on my computers and ran into many problems. No problems since switching to the free programs.

i have alot of experience with avg. the free one is pretty good but be carefull. its not that good when it comes to trojans and the realy nasty virusses.

i have had loads of virus scanners in the past. and i have to say. avg free is good. and norton is pure evil.

norton tends to ignore all trojans. ( i had 74 and norton said it found nothing)

I'm beginning to come around to the same thoughts. I've used Norton for years, still using it on my main computer, and haven't had too much trouble. But it does ignore some things. That's why I also use Spybot S&D (free) and a new one, for me, MalwareBytes (also free). I've found that nothing really catches everything, but using multiple programs can pretty much eliminate the vast majority. And I'm using AVG (free) on my two older machines, which are really not used too much. I'm experimenting with them, though, and AVG, in combination with Spybot's Tea Timer, has caught some problems before they could install themselves on my machine.

I used to use Ad-Aware, too, but I don't much care for their latest revisions, so I've stopped using it.

my tech guy put something called NoAdware on my computer; it's manual - doesn't do the timed run thing, but it does a damn sight better than norton, which doesn't do crap. in fact i'm trying to delete norton from my computer and it doesn't wanna go!

i'm system administrator and it's telling me i'm not allowed to delete it.

    wtf! lol

Yeah...this is basic stuff for system controllers!

If you don't want to use a removal prog, you can, of course, remove it manually...if you have a couple of hours to spare
