I take my time writing mails, sometimes looking things up etc. For that reason, I get thrown out and must sign up again. That is not so bad, but right now the system is back to throwing me out completely, so I have to look up the library again and start all over. In fact, the only way I can post is to go to a text program, cut and paste the orginal mail onto it, write my answer, and then try to cut and paste it back into original mail, which is almost impossible!

I have just lost an hour's work on this, and not for the first time. What on earth should I do?????

I ussually pull anything long that I am working on into my Microsoft Word Program where I can save it at will etc, and then when I am finnished I log back into the site and post it into the appropriate area of the forums.

You have this problem too? I do that, but it is such a long-winded way of doing it, I think.

Do you have the "remember me" box checked when you log on?

If the "not logged in" message appears, you can save your effort by looging in from that very screen... because the board buffers your submission while you verify you're a member (but not if you leave that page.)

When you say you've been tossed totally out... can you give more detail? That sounds like a problem with your own network or your internet access or the ISP server.

Lastly, an easier work around is, before posting, just highlight everything and ctl-C copy it. Then, if tossed out, you can open notepad and paste it there(or hold it in the clipboard) until you get back to the site...

That is what I am doing, and that is when it tosses me out.

Rats!! You are probably right there, if I am the only one with this problem.
What happens is I sign in again in the box offfered and when I push enter, the Library does not come back, but just disappears.

I had that problem too, whenn my dsl-router was set to a short time to hold it's connection and I hadn't checked that said "remember me" box. After a longer time setting the problem was gone.

btw: I always write longer posts in a word-processor or notepad, because I have lost many posts or mails when I started on the internet a long long long time ago. ;-)

Alright. I have an ICQ toolbar, with a redirect, and an ask toolbar. I do not use either of these. I do not want either of these. How do I get rid of both of these. Neither of which I recall installing.

Ah. But you can still log out after your session and that clears your cookies. So they only exist during your session but you're less likely to get timed out.
