That depends solely on what kind of binding you are imagining when you wrote this.

There are bindings that can be left in place for days... and others that can't be left on for even minutes.

Tight doesn't necessarily equate to restricting blood flow.

There are the standard proscriptions to check the temperature of the bound extremeties, but the best description I've heard is that the sub can tell the difference between good pain and bad pain... Good pain creates endorphins and euphoria, and bad pain signals damage. So mostly, pay attention to what the sub is telling you.

And pay attention to the kind of ligature you're creating. One that leaves veins and arteries unencumbered can be far far tighter and left on far far longer than one that cuts off ciruculation.

In general a triple or quadruple loop around a limb is far less severe than a single loop.

Be very cautious with suspensions... there are additional physiological things going on beyond the bindings themselves. And I always stay away from fully encircling the neck.
