I think that the degree to which this can be a "problem" among the vanilla population depends greatly on the specific environment. In the middle of day on the street, overt cumbucket-type humiliation crosses a line that will induce the local authorities to start informing the participants of their rights vis a vis silence and attorneys. Mileage may vary depending on country as well. In a nightclub- even a vanilla one- where the whole environment is much more adult, there's a lot more leeway. Picking a place where you know the clientele (and if possible the management) can make it a lot easier to gauge how far you're able to push things without crossing a line that distresses rather than piques the resident population. I know I've gotten away with things in a club where I was more or less "regular" (pun intended) that would have gotten me kicked out of the local mall.
