I followed the secretary down several corridors before she opened a door and stepped aside, allowing me to enter. She assured me that Mr Mckenzie would be with me momentarily and with that, she stepped back and closed the door behind her, leaving me alone.

What a curious room I thought to myself as I took stock of my surroundings. Only one seat, a tall stool, stood in the middle of the room.

I smiled to myself as I looked at my reflection in one of the mirrored walls. Opening my purse, I dug around until I found what I was looking for. I took out my makeup and touched up my face, adding extra lip gloss to make my pouty lips stand out. I teased my fingers through my hair to play up the windblown look that I thought made me look sexy. Anything to make a good impression I thought.

I made my way to the centre of the room and perched on the tall stool. It was high enough that my feet could not touch the ground once I was seated. I wiggled uncomfortably for a moment or two before deciding it would be better to stand.

I waited for a few minutes before I started to wonder what was taking so long. Maybe they had forgotten about me. I decided that I would wait another few minutes and then make my way back to the reception office if no one had shown up yet. Satisfied with that, I lifted myself back onto the stool and started to file my nails while I waited.

Having given myself a good manicure, my patience had worn out. I scanned the room, looking for the door I had entered from. From all sides of me, I was faced with my own reflection. There was no visible sign of a door anywhere, not even as a cut in the glass. With a shock I noted that the door had been cleverly disguised behind one of the mirrored panels but there were dozens of them and I had no way of knowing which one it would be.

Fear welled up inside me as the realized that I was locked in this room. A wrangled cry escaped my throat as I dropped my purse and ran to the closest wall. I smacked my hands against the mirrors as I made my way along the wall and towards the next one, banging loudly and calling out "Hello?? hello?? Can anyone hear me? Is anyone there? Please open the door...."
