    No doubt that the "Story of O" is classic erotica, as it was originally written and published in 1954 by French author Anne Desclos under the pen name Pauline Reage.It took almost 40 years for the fact that Desclos had written this classic to be revealed,as most assumed this work had been written by a male author ,based on the default mentality in the publishing world being that females could not write erotica.This ground breaking novel inspired lots of controversy over the decades following the first publication in the mid-50's and inspired a 1975 movie of the same name. Do not cheat yourself by seeing this original movie before reading the novel,as like most novel based movies,much of the novel is left out of the movie in the interest of movie run time.

    Actually, I perfer books. Movies are fun, but they don't always do justice to the story or even get it right.
