Crap. Crap, crap and double damn.

    ~mutters even more bad words~

Ok, my Dawgs had an off day. And it just HAD to be for the first time in 5 years against those little cocks. Damn. GRR! I'm not down on my team, though. We played hard 'til the end. ~mutters about how Stafford needs to actually get the ball into the receiver's hands~ So the Gamecocks won. Good for your side, Wolfie.

Ouch. That hurt. In the not-good way.

And Wolfie, about that PM, you didn't come play soon enough. Wagers made after the fact can't count...kinda like some bobbleheads I know.

But I'll consider what you suggested. Just 'cause I'm pervy in the way you suggest.

Hmm, this crow I'm eating...kinda tastes like chicken.

As we head to the next weekend of games, let's see some of the other fans step up and put their picture where their mouth is. The Bulldogs and Gamecocks can't be only teams with fans willing to share the love.

Do I seem the "'fraidy cat" type to you, Wolfie? Seriously now.

But then again, I'm not the type to respond in the typical way, so there is that as well.

    Brazil

What football fan doesn't have a soft spot for the Brazilians? Tomorrow the ladies' Football WC kicks off in China, and this pic of a Brazilian woman supporter (not me, sorry) just can't be bettered. I rest my case.

Logic1, Well, both our teams tied today. Your keeper looked better than ours but some of that might have been the rain. Friday's game should be a great one.

This is the first time I've ever been glad sports teams have their names/brands plastered all over shirts.

~giggles~ Gotta wonder if someone else thought the same, only way before now?

And Euryleia is gonna trash-talk! Woohoo! I can't wait!

trashtalking never leads to anything good imo but discussions might be fun

    Reasoned discussions work well, too.

Is Hanna Ljungberg still hurt? She didn't seem to be much a presence during the game against Nigeria. Of course, Kristine Lilly virtually disappeared from the field during our game as well. Maybe they're both saving energy for the next game.

I think the coaching decision to not replace Abby while she was getting stitches for the head wound (during which time PRK scored twice) was a poor one and indicative of this being Greg Ryan's first major tournament as head coach.

    Comments?

No she isnt hurt but it IS her first real game after her injury so I can imagine it takes a little time to get back on "top of the game".
I think our goalie is a bigger problem than Hanna though. Our ordinary keeper (Caroline Jönsson) has a kneeinjury sadly that she got on practice in June or so.
Too bad cause she is a real friendly person that I met a few times. She is a friend of a friend of mine so I cant say I "know" her but talk over coffe isnt half bad

I sure hope we get a great game Sweden/USA cause we both need to win. It is basically a win or go home game for both of us.
Both yours and my team talked about war in the newspapers so dunno but it seems like it will be a tough game.

Hard for me to watch the games though since they play at 2 in the afternoon here when I am at work..
Radio coverage simply cant compete with tv or actually being at the game.

They are playing at 2am my time, so I end up being groggy and cranky the rest of the day. On games I don't watch, I use the matchcast on the web--reading is better than nothing.

I think the game will be tough physically. Both teams are matched well size wise and it may come down to whose keeper makes the fewest bad decisions.

Yes I think you are right.
We do have different ways to prepare for the games though.
Our National team meets a few times a year for matches and normally plays in our national womens league and yours practices/plays together all year afaik.
Lets hope for a great game *s*

Seeing as how this is not a continuing college football thread....and that any sport, or team for that matter will be acceptable...I know of a very yummy Chicago Cubs shirt that Pixie has that I know would go over very well here...Just too bad it is the Cubs...

My teams did pretty well this week:

The US beat Sweden 2-0 at the Women's World Cup (sorry, Logic1). It was a great game and I just hope that Sweden kicks some N. Korean butt when they meet.

After rolling over Arkansas in the first half, Alabama nearly lost it in the 4th quarter but managed to squeek by 41-38.

I don't know which team this lovely cheers for but she's definitely got team spirit.

Yeah, sympathizing with you on the Cubs.

pixie?? Get that shirt on and show yourself, please? At least the good bits.

My Dawgs won!!! 45-16! Woohoo! Gonna have to get my cute little tank top on and post a pic. For team spirit and all.

Wolfie, I haven't forgotten you and your Cocks. ~evil grin~

Yeah, sympathizing with you on the Cubs.
*sighs* What can I say? I love the underdogs...lol. And who's a better underdog team than the Cubbies?

Gotta admit though, they are playing rather well this season. (holding the lead by 1.5 games today!!)

One kiss, and each spot of soreness - each little tender contusion - was transformed. Instead of pain, each bruise was filled with pleasure. Women's World Cup

Woo hoo! The US advances to the Quarterfinals and will play England on Saturday. The Nigerians certainly played to a higher standard than last World Cup but they were unable to prevail.

Sweden did their best to defeat North Korea AND advance out of the group. However, the final score of 2-1 was not enough. North Korea will play German (the reigning champions) on Saturday in the Quarterfinals.

Oh, Euryleia! Wow! Wow, wow!! Amazing picture!

And thanks for adding to the "spirit" of the thread!

Time isn't on my side right now, but when it is, I have some pics to add here. One for Wolfie and one for my Dawgs.
