The more we explored the lifestyle the more we both got into it. We live in central Texas and joined a local BDSM group. The group is led by a Master who has been in the lifestyle for over 30 years. We have developed a friendship with them (Me with him, my wife with his sub). The group meets every other Saturday; I don’t get to attend as often as I like I travel for my job. My wife loves it. But it is nice having someone with so much experience around. He lets me know when I am messing up.
My wife wants to be my slave/sub, but most of the time she is trying to top from the bottom. And being a Master in training, she gets away with it way too much. Having a house full of kids doesn’t help either. It’s hard to discipline her when they are around.
I just started a job in September where I have to travel a lot. Six weeks on the road, one week home. But at the present time I am at home and may be for the next several months. So my experience with the lifestyle has only been a few weekend games and some online stuff (I love computer cams).

So I am looking for other Doms/Masters who have been in the lifestyle and have some experience. Like dealing with a sub who is trying to top from the bottom. Or ways of disciplining a slave/sub when kids are around. Any advice, help, suggestions or comments are more than welcome.

This may draw heat, but I personally don't believe in "topping from the bottom." IMO it's all about providing a mutually satisfactory expererience for both partners involved, and actively listening to her is a very easy way of working things out

It sounds like you've run into the same problem I did (and still do) as another recent convert; there is oodles of information for new submissives, but not so much for dominants, of either gender. So take it slow, figure out what works best, and and stick with that No need to get really extreme when you're just getting into it.

The other thing to remember is that "discipline" need not be corporal punishment. There are lots of ways to get creative there- edging, having her do a chore she dislikes (cleaning the house out, perhaps?) and a million other things Again, all that matters is that it works for the two of you; there is no One True Way, no one-size-fits-all approach. Every person- and every relationship between them- is different.
