Need a bit of advice. :)

Met an absolutely fantastic little sub the other day at a dungeon in san francisco. We hit it off and have been talking OL quite a bit. Hell, we even played a little just a few hours after meeting.

She is into pet play. Her biggest kink. Now before I had met her this one was a little beyond me, but this girl, man, comes off as a cat. Same almost irresistible urge to sit her on your lap and pet her.

I am completely amused by the depth of that protective urge she evoked. A bit novel, for me.

Anyways my actual question is this. What does pet play entail? Is it similar to age play? Age play is another one I've never tried, but it's a big kink for her, and I'm a 'Try About Anything' kinda kinkster.

Also, I am completely at a loss to how one interacts as 'owner' and 'pet' in an online capacity.

All totally new to me. This summer so far has been epic in terms of shit I'd never done before. ^.^

Any pet owners and daddys who read this, and have insight, are welcome to pm me with thoughts. Or of course post here.

    Thanks for reading!

The basics involve simple protocols in how you refer to each other - you give her a pet name, something appropriate for the animal she is, and use that in private (and in public in kink friendly places). There is a certain degree of roleplaying for her to do - which it sounds like she is already doing - in how she reacts to you and how she behaves. She eats and drinks from a pet dish whenever possible, plays with toys in the same way as a cat would and so on.

Most of my experience is in puppy play and a lot of the elements of that which are really BDSM linked do not apply to cats - things like training (giving her commands and expecting her to follow them as if she were a dog), toilet control (she has to non verbally ask for permission to go to the toilet, using only signs that a dog may use), walking her around on a lead, throwing balls for her to chase and so on. Cats just don't do that sort of thing. You could ask her to wear nothing during sessions other than a collar with a bell on it and, if you really want the extremes, give her a litter tray for going to to the toilet in (though getting her to ask permission to go to the human toilet may be more appropriate for people who don't want what may amount to scat/pee play ).

As for age play, I always understood that to be a situation where the sub dressed as a baby/young person and was treated as such by the Dom/me. Men seem to prefer being a baby (including being forced into nappies and so on) whereas women seem to prefer the 'innocent young girl' thing.

I suppose how deeply you entrench your fantasy into your everyday life depends on how much you want it to be public humiliation for the sub. Is it something that happens only occasionally in play (which is good to start with) when preplanned - say, every thursday between 7pm and 10pm she is your kitten, fridays between 7-10pm she is your little girl - or do you do it every time you are alone in private or is it something you do in 'kink private' (i.e. only with kink friendly witnesses such as at a club or other private party) or is it something you are both prepared to let the whole world know about?

I love kitties. Though it's nothing heavily serious for us, my little one on occasion will just start acting like a cat (rubbing his face on my leg and purring, curling into a ball and wanting to be pet). My role in that is to simply pet him if I feel like it or ignore him if I don't, though he does like to be kicked out of the way if I need to walk where he is. Also for us it's just a game; we don't do that during sessions so I can't help you there.

Punishment for cats is frequently being sprayed with a bottle of water (cats really do loathe being wet), rewards are licking milk from a dish or being fed bits of meat from the table.

Though more difficult than training dogs, it is possible to train a cat (it just will always have an attitude and may or may not obey you at any given time).

Cats are far more independent than dogs in their behavior in that they basically do whatever they want- so fortunately for you, there isn't all too much for you to do (have you ever owned a real cat? If you haven't, you might consider getting one just to learn what they are like, though that's a big commitment, too). However a cat cannot feed itself (if it's indoors only), so she would have to depend on you for that if you wish; with online play I guess you would determine when she may eat, which would probably be whenever you get home from your day, however late that is.

I'm sorry, but I don't know how you'd do pet play online at all; animals can't talk, so they'd have nothing to type. Well, you could task her, I suppose, but she'd have to "turn human" to report on it. Good luck with it, anyway, it sounds like you're having fun!

    fun

Yes I am having fun. This girl is adorable. But the problem is that I do have cats. 3 actually. So knowing that my interaction with them consists of petting, feeding, opening required doors, and providing a lap at times... I am at a loss for OL interactions!

Every part of this is funny for me. I am 'tickled pink'. I suppose I enjoy being out of my depth.

What I have done is required her to write me an owners manual similar to this one.

Should clarify things a little, at least in terms of her conceptualization of this dynamic. I want to know what she sees when she visualizes this, if that makes sense.

It's a place to start from.

Interestingly I can see that OL play could potentially involve more complex negotiations than in rl... I have her living arrangements to work around.

    hmm.

Have her buy some cat toys, especially the one that wiggles around on the floor with a little yarn "tail" hanging out of it. A sort of mechanical mouse. Make her put on her sparkly collar and make you a vid or do a webcam session of her playing with her toys.

    Lapping milk from a dish.

    Peeing in the litter box.

I've had cats that would play fetch. More on their terms, but still. Make her bring her toys to the webcam in her mouth.

Also, I think a lot of women who get into kitty play in particular don't really want to inhabit the animal all the time. There's an element of sexy woman in it too. And cats and women's sexuality have been associated even in the vanilla world for a long time. Remember Catwoman on Batman? She wasn't Ponygirl for a reason. So she can combine sexy woman, or sexualized woman, into her cat play too. if you and she are into, say, playing around with her orgasm, I don't see why Kitty wouldn't have to be particularly seductive in order to have one. Don't forget, even cats beg when they smell you opening a can of tuna. And Kitties don't like to be wet. So if she gets wet - bad Kitty! - maybe she needs to dry off and sit in the corner for a while.

Is sexual arousal like catnip for her? Maybe the more aroused she gets the sillier and jumpier and more playful she needs to get, for the play to continue. Maybe when she comes she needs to yowl and meow, really loudly, like a cat in heat.

Whew. I don't get into pet play, but maybe I need to reconsider it.

    It has its advantages...winks.

I sometimes wonder if we're more creative...or just less inhibited in letting our creativity out.

My favorite part of kitty play is purring, and also just plain petting the head while they're curled up in your lap.

    You could try kittenplay.net

As said previously, online it will take a bit of hard thinking to get some decent sessions in.

One piece of apparatus not mentioned above is a tail. Almost all cats have a tail, and like to flick it about. In addition to the sparkly collar, may I suggest ears and/or paw restraints?

In RL, stroking, petting, and grooming are great ways to pass the time. Also, cats spend a lot of time sussing things out by sniffing people and objects in their surroundings. This can lead to some delicately sensual scenes.

The thing about most cats is that whatever they do, they do it 'pretty'.
