A muck, a muck, a muck...

Rating: 1 votes, 1.00 average.
Points if you get the reference, though the title has nothing to do with what i feel like writing about today <3 (thank you Mai for getting my wheels turning!)

When people make assumptions of you, do those assumptions mean anything? Can you logically let them affect you since those assumptions are based on that person's life experiences
(political beliefs, childhood experiences, religious upbringing, etc etc etc) which you (a) can't control and (b) probably have no clue about?

Say someone calls you a slut. For this example this person is vanilla, and makes assumptions based on the fact that you have what i myself would call an "open nature." i've been called that many times (not in a good way, lol) because i don't regulate taboos like a lot of people. i say words and do things that others wouldn't because i'm comfortable with myself and what those words and actions mean to me. i use hugs instead of handshakes partially because i grew up in a touchy-feely environment where hugs were the norm, but
*also* because i believe touch is an underrated language; you learn more about a person through a hug than a handshake. And if that makes me a slut, well then so be it, because the way that someone else might classify that word has absolutely no relevance for me since it only objectifies things about me that i'm happy with.

Say a person in the lifestyle calls you a slut; of course this means something different, and maybe it's even meant as a compliment, but say it offends you. You define "slut" as a person who sleeps around, someone cheap, and you don't see yourself as that. Is there any justification to the offense you take, since it was given as a compliment...?

Words are extremely powerful in regards to the human psyche, it's no secret. But how subjective they really are...
