I've never shaven before and it have been requested that i do so by our meeting on Thursday. Scared and anxious - any advice or suggestions?

use a good hair conditioner instead of a shaving soap and a new razor, and you should get a nice clean shave![]()
And... I highly recommend you avoid this technique.

i personally prefer a high quality bar soap and a new razor and i actully use a mans razor i get better results also things about maybe sitting sideways in the tub to do it with a little water in the bottom it spreads what needs to be spread and its comfortable and you have water right there
Under BDSM health Q&A there is a subject titled Shaved Pussy.
This is actually a good thread because it covers alot of the ways some of us prefer to shave. Most of the main points made are pretty solid through out, the basic difference come in through the products that we use.
Mostly: use a new razor with multiple blades, find a soap or product that will make shaving easier for you, exfoliate, soak the hair in warm water before hand, and then afterwards make sure you apply a product to prevent an irritating rash from cropping up. Several are suggested in the link so it'll depend on your preferences from there.
Good luck.
[humour]what, you allow the use of a razor, Oz???? Wussie, lol! Hair conditioner and then pulling the hairs out (one at a time) leaves a most wonderfully smooth pussy - lmao. [/humour]
I find a cood hair conditioner (elvive, for example) is much superior to soap - it reduces razor drag to nearly nothing. In addition, and electric (battery driven) moustache trimmer (or ear hair trimmer) works wonders in getting in the delicate places to trim prior to shaving (pre-trimming keeps the razor from clogging too quickly)
I always prefer a shaving gel to soap - it is probably as smooth as conditioner (though never tried that). I also use an exfoliator to clear the dead skin from the area first to prevent ingrown hairs.
i use under arm deodorant on afterwards, the kind that helps reduce hair growth is great, actually! I agree with all others, though...soak in warm water, ex foliate gently, use something slippery...(i love hair conditioner, myself), as many blades as you can get on a razor, then pat dry and deodorant. Keeps me pretty smooth for a couple of days, but my hair grows really fast, esp down there! LOL

so would using an electric razor with just water be bad? that's the easiest way for me to do it since i am so worried of cutting myself and then i also cant see everything.
If you want to use an electric, then skip the water and either use an alchohol based pre-shave or a talc "shaving stick".
Water makes hair lie flat (not an issue with a blade and soap...) and that doesn't work with an electric razor. Alchohol or talc dries out the hair making it stand upright so it slips into the shaving foil.

With a little bit of research of the forums you will be able to find the threads I answered to, in depth, concerning this issue. Check them out! I am too lazy to copy/paste them. Good luck!
P.S. I haven't had a genital / anal hair since about 1983 and my procedure works fine for a smooth feel and no-none-nada ingrown hairs.
There are many videos of women shaving on the internet. If you have "redclouds " that is a good site. It is cheap too. $25 a year. Just go slow. I have shaved women and seen them shave themselves . It is not difficult if you go slow.
i actually like to pre trim, then apply baby powder and shave dry, although i've been shaving for years now so there isn't much to shave. The dry shave (if it's a new razor) seems not to cause any irritation, though it might be just me!
Though this is a little late to help you, hope all went well with whatever you did!
i agree with brwneydgrl, waxing lasts longer than shaving, the hair doesnt grow back as coarse and isnt inclined to spread growth. Having a professional's attention also means there wont be any spots missed (providing your professional is an apt beautician).
Also, it should be mentioned that the more and longer you shave for the more it will hurt if you do decide on waxing.
