I find a cood hair conditioner (elvive, for example) is much superior to soap - it reduces razor drag to nearly nothing. In addition, and electric (battery driven) moustache trimmer (or ear hair trimmer) works wonders in getting in the delicate places to trim prior to shaving (pre-trimming keeps the razor from clogging too quickly)

i use under arm deodorant on afterwards, the kind that helps reduce hair growth is great, actually! I agree with all others, though...soak in warm water, ex foliate gently, use something slippery...(i love hair conditioner, myself), as many blades as you can get on a razor, then pat dry and deodorant. Keeps me pretty smooth for a couple of days, but my hair grows really fast, esp down there! LOL

I recommend a little hand mirror. You can get one that has a stand and that'll leave you with both hands free if you want to be able to see everything while you're shaving. It can be quite fun too.

If you want to use an electric, then skip the water and either use an alchohol based pre-shave or a talc "shaving stick".

Water makes hair lie flat (not an issue with a blade and soap...) and that doesn't work with an electric razor. Alchohol or talc dries out the hair making it stand upright so it slips into the shaving foil.

P.S. I haven't had a genital / anal hair since about 1983 and my procedure works fine for a smooth feel and no-none-nada ingrown hairs.
