You're totally mixing up things. There is no legal age between teens. Two teens can fuck at 12 and there's absolutely nothing the authorities are empowered to do.

The problem arizes only with a teen+adult and it's often less than 18 according to the law. In a whole lot of US states and other countries it's 16. South Carolina is 14, just like Canada. In the US Military it's 16.

It also varies with the kind of relation b/w the teen and the adult. For instance, a different law regime (usually 18 yrs old) governs a situation of authority (ex.: sports coach / teen or teacher/student).

Here in the U.S. 18 is legal, below that is jail bate. And that dosn't care if male or female, or if its both that are under age, the parents can be arrested. Dosn't happen that much but can happen.

So she was 17 in a state where the age of consent is 18. So jail resulted. Good. That seems to be perfectly normal for that state. She was underage. Now: to get back to the base of the discussion. The legal age IS NOT 18 in all states. It's below that in at roughly half of them. Therefore you wrote BS saying Here in the U.S. 18 is legal, below that is jail bate.

There aren't enough of those around. And don't try to tell me that this could have been avoided. With these sex ed programs in school, kids ARE aware of the consequences of their actions. And from what jaeangel said, kids are aware of sex LONG before the teenage years.

God doesn't have to make another flood to turn this place into a craphole. He'll just sit around and watch this friggin' younger generation do it.

To be honest though, concidering the fact that the average 15 year old girl is used to giving a blowjob to a boy if asked and the amount of underage sex and such, I dont really think there is anything wrong with a teen sex story. People can no longer act that a teenager will not have had sex, when free comdoms are given out to them to prevent teen pregnancies.

In my Northeastern US state, a minor (under 18) CAN be charged with "statutory rape:" the charge would be, "delinquent, to wit, 'rape of a child.'"

Now that's the law. What happens in fact may be another matter. As things get looser, look for more tolerance, and then, after a while, the law-makers (in various jurisdictions) may say, "well, they're doing it anyway....so let them do it legally.
